Sir through the influence of Gov Morton, with the war department and Medical General of this department he has succeeded in getting the Ind. Soldiers in differant Hospitals of different States, temporary furlough at home for fifteen days to vote at the state election
Thare is fifty Ill. soldiers here in hospital from sickness and wounds we want to have a voice in the great battle that is to be fought on the 8 of Nov 64 we have offered our selves sacrafices on the alter of our country, and now we want to give our support once more to [amagistrat?], who we cant trust to win, Father Abraham
if we was able to go front to Kill rebels. we would not ask to come home to vote, but as we are not we think we should like to Kill 50 Rebel votes 50 votes mite turn the Scale in Ill, and Ill. in the Election we have all confidence in you that you will have us go home to vote if you can
