Gov
Malden Jones, Union nominee for the Legislature from this County is shaky on the question of United States Senator. He says you told him that Capt. Bagly of this County should be Commissioned Major of the 79th Regt. & that Capt Low was commissioned in his place - & that he must have some explanation of the reasons. I hope you will at once make this matter right. I know you Can do it. I have written to day to Major Peters of Danville to open on Mr Jones, & I Know he will do it. Jones is your friend, but thinks he has been played off on. I am - watching him, & will Keep an eye on him. & so will Major Peters. We want you to help us.
Very truly yours
G. Wright
P. S. If Gov is not at home, his private secretary will please attend to this matter if he can do so safely.
