Dear Governor,
You favor with the accompanying packages was duly received.
I will attend to distributing the address myself. I can do it more to my own satisfaction at least & it will be in the way of my business
I have not found time to visit Springfield since I met you in Chicago. but I shall try & attend to the matter which you had the kindness to suggest to me as Early as next week.
In conversation with a Democrat usually pretty well informed with
reference to the U S senatorship he told me he thought that the democrats would not present any man for the Senate but would unite with Palmers, or some other Republicans friends in order to prevent the Election of either you or Logan. Do you think there is any probability of such a combination? I know nothing with regard to it myself & simply repeat it to you for what it may be worth.
I shall hope to see You before the legislature meets.
Very Truly Yours
