Description
The large glass Dome Building was originally built for the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. It was purchased and relocated to the permanent Illinois State fairgrounds in Springfield in 1895. The building housed soldiers and National Guard Offices during World War I, before it was destroyed by fire in 1917.
