Joseph Naper poses for a portrait wearing a dark suit. Naper was one of the founding members of Naperville, Illinois (est. 1831), a veteran of the Black Hawk and Mexican-American Wars, and a member of the Illinois House of Representatives from 1836-1840 and 1852-1854.
