Description
Eight illuminated chandeliers hang above an empty ballroom at the Stevens Hotel in Chicago. Located at 720 S. Michigan Avenue and overlooking Grant Park and Lake Michigan, the Stevens Hotel was the largest hotel in the world when it opened in 1927. In 1942, the U.S. Army purchased the hotel to be used as a barracks for air cadets during the war, and today it is known as the Chicago Hilton.
