Dear Sir,
I regret your dispatch as to having “Fair play &c” as it would wound Gov. Woods feelings very much if he should hear of it. as he is very sensitive.
I have great confidence in Gov. Wood and know that the letter I wrote him was the very thing. He has returned and has telegraphed Mr Cassel to accept some of your bids. He seems well satisfied with you.
I hope that you will furnish all that you contract for immediately or at the very earliest moment as the troops are in much need. And loud complaints will come up from the troops. And also from
interested who desired to controll the contracts and who will say that Mr. Hopkins or other persons would have furnished immediately
Also do not fail to come up to the sample – I have pleged myself that you would carry out your contract to the full and in every particular
Yours Truly
Richd Yates
