Dr Sir

I have been twice calld on yesterday at Sumner to write you to know if there is an order of the department allowing Companies of Illinois troop now in Mos Regiments to be transfered and put in Illinois Regiment Capt Jno Watts and Capt T T Dollahan one of Mo 7 the other of Mo 11 wish to be transfered, and annexed to Col Moros Reg, Kentucky Brigade they are very desirous to get rid of there Mo connexions, and I do hope that such order has been made as these men are from there statement Barborously treated, exposing them to all kinds of hardships, with no Blankets and poorly Clothed, much worse off than our our own Regs even in Mo. alonge side of them. I hope if there is any mode of getting these men

transfered you will point it out and assist in having it done I know if such things can be done you must know it and intended to have written to Mr Dubois but learn that he is absent at Washington, and will be much obliged to have you write me on receipt of this, giving such information as you may be in possesion of on that subject
