Take Me Back to Dear Old Illinois
Andte Modto
I have wandered far and wide To the country's far off side, But no place to me like dear old Illi-nois There I spent my childhood days, I will love that spot always. So take me back again to Il- li- nois.
I have met with some men more grand, In that fair and sun - ny land, But no spot so dear to me as Il- li-nois. For no matter where I roam, there's no place like that old home, A-way back there in good old Il- li-nois.
I am getting old and gray, and I've set long here to stay. But I long to be a-gain in Ill-in-nois. There to rest this weary head, on that soil that I have tread. A-way back home in dear old Il-li-nois.
Take me back once more, to the land I adore, To the greenfields of that dear old Illi-nois. There I'll ever happy be where those scenes are dear to me, so take me back again to Il-li- nois.
