Sir Lieut Augustus Hoyer of the Artillery Company of the 14 Regiment Ills was commended his excellency the Governor of the State of Illinois and has from the time of receiving his commission acting as Aid de Camp for me

Lieut Hoyer has discharged all his duties with industry and fidelity and to my entire satisfaction and I should greatly regret the loss of his services.

I hope in the reorganization of the Artillery Company he may be recommissioned and I earnestly recommend him for a Lieutenancy in that or any other regiment or company of Illinois troops in which a vacancy may be formed
