Will it be in your power to send me passes for St. Louis for a squad of men Why I ask it is that some of them are recruits and wish to go immediately to the Regiment Others are members of my company who have been Home on furlough on account of sickness they have spent all of the small amount of their wages for travelling expenses and Dr Bills and now there time to return to the Regiment has come and they have not the means to return If you are not the one to address on this subject please refer this to the proper person. Send them to Tuscola I shall start to my
company on Monday next I hope you will give this matter of passes for the men your influence for the poor fellows cant get to the Regiment without it some of them have not one cent left and I have not means to furnish them for Transportation Hoping and praying for the early settlement of the war and the return of peace I remain
