The enclosed letter from my particular friend Mr A M Blackburn formerly of this place asking for a letter to Prest. Lincoln for his son, I can say with pleasure that I known the young man from childhood and consider him a very worthy and trustworthy person and if consistent with your views of propriety it would afford me much pleasure if you could grant his request and place me under renewed obligation for your kindness.
