Honord Sir
I have to acknowledge the receipt of your Esteemed favor naming the Eighteenth of this month as a day when you Expect to be at Springfield & I regret that circumstances beyond my controll forbid my absence from home next week & I shall not now probably be able to leave till after the fourth of next month.
Will you permit me to trouble you again to name some day near the middle of next month saying where you will be. Either at Springfield
or at Chicago & some other Convenient place where I could Confer with you relative to my Brother when I shall go to visit him at Joliet.
I acknowledge also the receipt of desired information from you through the Hon. Secretary for which please accept my thanks
