An appointment for the enrollment of the malitia of this Co came by mail on the 8" Just directed to Mr Kenner my son W Kenner being a younger man than me and abler to do the riding I gave him the job and it will be closed in a day or two more of which you will have due notice

I would like to have the appointment of Commissioner of Exemptions of this Co if you have not already made the appointment as that job would suit me better than the Enrollment I would refer you to auditor Dubois and Marshall Phillips although I suppose you recollect me well enough yourself to know that I would be qualified for the Position.
