His Excellency
Governor Yates
Will please allow me to introduce the bearer, who is the widow of Henry G. Hubbard Esq late of this City, and a Sister-in-law of my brother. Mrs H. visits Springfield for the purpose of obtaining from your Excellency a deed for a tract of land purchased of Canal Trustees, which She now owns, and the legal title of which has never been conveyed from the State in accordance with the sale thereof by Land Trustees. I have informed Mrs H. that your Excellency will undoubtedly render her all aid in the premises that you feel authorized by law to do. Mrs H will show your Excellency the papers connected with the case

I do not that any Patent ever issued-upon satisfactory evidence of the death of Mr Hubbard. I suppose as a matter of course a Patent would issue to his Heirs at law.
