I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 10 inst. requesting the release and exchange of Privt. W.H. Tillson, Co. E. 84 Ill. now here as a Prisoner of War at Richmond. In reply I am happy to inform your Excellency, that by chance I have the privilege of asking for the release of one man and I have today sent the name of Privt. Tillson to Gen. Meredith, Com. for exchange, as the person selected for this special exchange.
His friends may expect to hear of his arrival at Annapolis in a few days,
