A letter has been received from Asa Hairgrove, Esq. Auditor of State in Kansas, of similar purport to the one transmitted me from yourself, under date of 26th inst.

My direct reply to Mr. Hairgrove was to the Effect that the admission of patients from other States was well nigh impracticable, in the Extremely Crowded state of this Institution; but that the application would be laid before the trustees of the Institution, at their quarterly meeting, to be held Early in March.
