Know all men by these presents that we Peter Sibert and Josiah Lincoln are held and firmly bound unto his excellency James Garrard esq governor of Kentucky and his successors in the pena] sum of fifty pounds current money to the payment of which well and truly to be made we bind our selves our heirs executors and administrators jointly severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 31st day of August 1801.

The condition of the above obligation is such that if there there should be no legal cause to obstruct a marriage shortly intended to be solemnised between the above bound Petert Sibert son of Peter Sibert [serv?] and Mary a Briggs daughter of Catherine Briggs then this obligation to be void else to remain in full force.
