Know all men by these presents

that I Robert Stuart of the county of

Cooper & State of Mifsouri for and

in consideration of my indebtednefs

to my brother John Stuart of the County

of Sangamon & State of Illinois on account

of money paid by my said Brother to

Alexander McNaughton and

Cromwell administrators of the Estate

of Nathan Cromwell and as my Security

have granted, afsigned and transfered

to my brother John Stuart and by these

presents do grant afsign & Transfer to him

One Thousand Dollars out of that portion

of my father's Estate which will be due

& coming to me at his death

And I hereby authorise & empower

my said Brother John Stuart to ask

demand, receive and sue for that

portion of my said Interest at any time

when the same shall be due me and

in whose so ever hands the same may

be in my name - and in my

name to grant such discharges, receipts

and acquitances as may be proper

upon the receipt of such interest

hereby ratifying & confirming what the

said John Stuart may lawfully [illegible]

in the Premises
