Dear Brother

I forgot to ask in my last that you should copy a Programme of Massaniello which you will find on a Bill, or rather two Bills inside the music - on one of the Bills you will find a brief sketch of the character or history of Massaniello and the other the Synopsis of Incidents &c If you have not returned them to Forbes please copy when you find the Music, or should you not have time to do so - take out the Bill with the historical sketch & programme, the two are alike as far as the Programme of Incidents is concerned and one can be spared - leave the one with the cast of characters for Forbes. Business here so far is about what I expected - that is to say very indifferent

I have only made 2 1/2 dollars thus far - being the amount above my sharing point - Every body is busy preparing for Christmas - any number of Balls & parties - concerts &c - What the Benefit may turn out is somewhat uncertain. therefore if the worst comes to the worst & at the last moment I should want some of the needful you had better understand about it, so that I can Telegraph without stating the business & amount -

If I want any funds I shall merely Telegraph "Send me the package by return Express" which will mean 40 or 50 dollars - I hope however that I shall have no occasion to do so - Tomorrow night we do "[Outalanchet?]" and repeat the same on Christmas night - Saturday the Benefit, "Alexander" the Great - Marc Antonys oration - & Lizzy in a Farce - Howard

spoke to me when I arrived about playing next week - but if the business does not improve it will hardly pay - The working class are out of employ & consequently out of money - therefore amusements suffer - Love to all at home - shall write Sunday again -

In haste,

Joseph

P.S.

A bad beginning they say makes a good ending -

So mote it be
