My dear Dr. Gurley
I beg to introduce to you the Rev. Mr Dyer, a worthy Presbyterian minister of this neighborhood, who goes to Washington to see President Lincoln, with a view to secure the liberation of a young man who has been conneced with the army, and is now under sentence of imprisonment. He and myself will be thankful to you for any [facilities?] you may be able to give him for finding his way to the President.
I regretted not seeing you, as your letter had encouraged me to hope, in the course
of the summer. I need not promise you a cordial welcome when ever you will come.
With great regards
I am very fraternally yours,
WB Sprague.
