The tall, thin commercially sold ledger book with lined entries for each day contains sporatic entries for 1865, 1869, 1871, 1874, and 1879-80. Early entries describe going to Springfield in December 1865 to visit Lincoln's Tomb; staying at Chenery House; and hearing of the arrival of Mary (widow) and Robert Lincoln from Chicago.
