Dear Doctor

I will not be able to call today at one o’clk, as you directed, having an engagement, but as my throat has ceased to trouble me since dinner yesterday (having used the gargle [twice?] + the lozenges frequently)

I’ve no doubt but

that you’ve cured me. I shall, however see you tomorrow if the soreness returns – in the meantime will continue the remedies.

With thanks + kind regards

Edwin Booth
