Hotel Thorndyke Boston
Dec. 2d 1890
Dear Jervis
I was sorry to receive a dictated letter from you last night & hope soon to see your own good fist. I sincerely hope, my old friend, that your condition as at present indicated, will speedily change. I'm sorry that this unimportant business matter should have annoyed you & at such a time too. The 2d
Nat: Bank Cashier sent me your chk with directions to simply guarantee your signature for the satisfaction of your bankers & all would be right. I did so & returned the chk; this might have been done at first without troubling you about it. I hope they'll not bother you any more.
I hope to hear of your entire recovery before I leave Boston, I shall be here two
weeks then for one in Providence, after which I hope to rest for at least six. My health will not permit me to work longer without a break.
God bless you! old boy, as soon as you feel able to do so write me a few lines & if there is anything I can do to serve you do not hesitate to call on our old friend Edwin Booth Love to all yr folk.
