Hon Richard Yates

Dr Sir By request of Mrs Geo W Dicus, whose husband is now Sick in Hospital No 8. Nashville Tenn, I write requesting that you will give her a pass, that She may go to him. Mr Dicus is a member of the 104th Ills Vol. was taken prisoner at Hartsville, & was paroled & delivered to outr troops at Murfreesboro, from there he had to walk to Nashville. Sick & now lies very low with brain fever. She had just heard from him for the first time, for some months, and as you may Suppose is in great distress about him. She has a family


of Small children entirely dependant on him for Support. Dicus was a good citizen---a good soldier & a most excellent man, & if you can grant her request so that She can go to him & minister to his comfort, you will confer a great favor on a worthy & distressed woman.
