Sir Our post office has been for a long time under democratic [illegible] and we have just circulated a petition to the P.M. General asking the appointment of James G. Campbell to that place. The petition is signed by all the prominent Republicans in town and vicinity and we feel ancious that he should get the appointment. he is a thorough giving [illegible] Republican and has done much for our cause in this vicinity - and will do much more. he is a member of our county Repubn Central Come and every way eminently qualified for the place.

I could think of no better place to make our prayer respected by the department than to ask of you to favor us by addressing this communication or otherwise as you in your enlightened discretion might think best.

Believing that the principals of our party are the only hope for our county and Civil Liberty Throughout the World

I Remain Your Truly Henry S. Savage
