March th 26 1863

Dear Sir I wish to inform you that my Son has arrived safe home, he has been in the armey about eighteen months he was taken a Prisener at the battle at Murfeysburro and is Parolled he says he thinks that you have the list of names, his name is [Tevyer?] Richardson.

I wish to beg a favour off you Dear Sir, and that is that he may continue at home with me untill he is exchanged, he came home sick his lungs appears to be very much affected, and he has a very bad coff, in fact he is now unable for duty if he was called upon, he belongs to the 34 Illinois Company C, pleas to write me a few lines as soon as oppertunity arises
