I enclose you the application of Rogers Fowler Esq for the appointment of Commissary of one of our Northern Regiments.

This will be handed you by Mr Fowler who proposes to visit you in your City, and to whom I take the liberty to introduce to you.

The names appended to Mr. Fowler's application are those of our best citizens, the most of whom are personally known to you - & would warrant the appointment of Mr. Fowler to a much more responsible post.

I trust it may be consistent with your views & duties, to confer the appointment upon Mr F. and much oblige
