I have the honor to send you herewith the Flag of the 84th Regt Ills. Vols. to be deposited with the Colors of the other Regiments returned to you. It was borne by the Regiment at Stone River, Chickamauga, Look Out Mountain, Missionary Ridge And Ringgold. Its shreds and tatters tell the Story of the conflicts the 84th has witnessed.
