Hon Richard Yates Springfield, Ills.

Sir; - The bearer of this note Mr Jeremiah J. Green is a resident of this vicinity, well known as a reliable Union Man.

He has two sons in the U.S. service as volunteers from this state, one of whom was wounded at the battle of Chickamauga and now lies in hospital at Louisville Ky in a very feeble state of health. Mr G. is desirous of visiting him for the purpose of rendering him any assistance that may be necessary and if practicable to get him home. any assistance you may be able to


render him will be worthily bestowed
