Gov Yates Dear Sir
I am requested by a lady to write this letter to you it is an act of kindness she asks of you
her Husband left her to go and fight the battles of his Countrey he has gone he has been through battles and has faught like a brave man
he has never asked for a furlough to come home nor has he made the Government any expence that any soldier can avoid
he is now sick at Murfreesboro and has written home for his wife to rais means and send for him
she is poor and cannot raise the money to pay the expence of so long a journey
She is poor but she still has the same love for her Husband as any one has that are worth their thousands she is anxious to get him home
she is not able to go herself she is just getting up from a fit of sickness
so I have Vollenteerd to go after him
I write to you in her behalf for a free pass over the railroads and on the rivers to get there and back
waiting for an answer
