Dear Sir: The boy went to Chenery house and waited half hour - returned to the office and I sent him to the train which he reached, went through two cars and the train being in motion was compelled to leave without finding you.
I have mailed the letter (to the Secretary of war) under cover to you at Washington City which I hope you will receive in due time & that it will serve the desired purpose.
