Dear Madam.
Your letter relating to your husband and Capt. Wilson & Lt. Wood is recd. and I have written to Washington requesting that they may, when it is possible, be made the subjects of special Exchange and asked the Dept. to communicate all the information they have or may be able to obtain about them, which when recd I will promptly send you & earnestly wish these gallant men may soon be restored to their families and the Country. I take [much?] pleasure in doing all I possibly can for them.
