Hon Richard Yates
My dear sir
I reached here in safety, found letters stating that all were well at home- and before going up to Kenosha sent off all your letters.
I have heard from Bloomington and Galesburg, and have fixed the day for both places.
I am to lecture in Bloomington on Monday next. After that my first engagement is for Friday, at Jacksonville. They cannot get the house before the
19th - So unless they want a second lecture in Bloomington, I shall have Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for a visit in Springfield Do you think your town will bear another lecture? If so, suppose the Soldiers Aid Society take me for Wednesday the 17th. The subject of Lecture to be "The Men and Women of Twenty Years Hence"
I offered Saturday the 20th to Quincy, but as Galesburg wants the 23rd instead of the 22nd, I shall have Saturday, Tuesday and Monday to spend in Quincy So if they want a second lecture they can have it.
I stupidly forgot to take
down the names of the gentlemen to whom you wrote in my behalf. Perhaps you will be kind enough to drop a line to one of them, offering a second lecture - in case they wish any from me. I am ashamed to trouble you any more about my little business affairs.
My present address is care of S.C. Griggs S9, 41 Lake St Chicago.
Love to Mrs Yates and Katy. I hope darling little Dicky is better.--
God bless you.
Ever your friend - Grace G.
