Governor Yates

Dr Sir - If there is any situation in which your Excellency could place me where my services could be more beneficial to the goverment than by remaining at home you are at liberty to command them

I am 56 years of age and cannot travel far on foot but otherwise am hearty and vigorous and in these trying times feel able and willing to serve my Goverment if my services are needed

If your Excellency has plenty of younger and abler men I would merely say that my commission as Notary Public has expired and if I remain at home it would be desirable to me to be reappointed for the convenience of the public as well as myself in executing instruments of writing yours truly
