Dear Sir Beleiving that is the duty of every good Union man to aid in the Present war I have therefor commenced Raising a company to serve during the war I can have my company full in a few Days will you please inform me wether you will receive them if so where shall I report to and with other proper Instructions I feell myself fully prepared to take charge haveing served as a first Luitenant in Co B 2nd Regt of Illinois Volenteers in Mexico for refernce I can refer you to Brigr Gen Prentiss Hon Don Morrison Hon R Richardson and many others hopeing to hear from you I am
