Mr I H. Ellis who will hand you this desires to visit two of my cousins A Y. Maxwell & I N Foster, both of the 26th Regt Ills Vols, with the view of either procuring their discharge from the service or obtaining a furlough for them. They are both in the Webster Hospital. Mr Ellis is a very worthy and loyal gentleman and I specially recommend him to you and request you to render him all assistance in your power to enable him to accomplish his purpose.
