To his Excellency Govener Yates

Sir.

We the undersigned being inmates of the Madison General Hospital and Members of the 27th Regt. Ills Inft. take the priviledge of writing to inform you that we were informed that the Regt. would be at Springfield on the 11th of August, to be Mustered out and as the officers of this Camp do not Proceed to transfer us to the state we would be obliged to you if you would drop a few lines to the officers of this Camp to that effect,
