To the honorable govner Yates Dear Sir I have a letter now before me Sent me Donelsonvill La_70 miles East of New Olenes this letter comes from a Pias & inteleget & verry werthy young man whoo I have Known for Sume (Twenee?) of years his name is Henry M. Perrin. I will will now coppey a part of his letter I will get Say however he was under Steward & all the (pet??) for quit a length of time & I think he Renlisted to fill a Seced term in the Army. he SpeaKes Af your letter or order at that time I will geve You his own words
Sum day preveaus to August 15 1862 Govener Yates of Illinois Issued an order or a letter calling for men to inlest to fill up ridgments that had been Seven Months in the field as a agreat indusemet he promised that men who Should inlest in Ald Redgmets Should be mustered out of the Survis at the Same time thair Redgmt Should be mustered out. My Redgmet mustered in to the United States Servis July 28- 1862 in August 1862 about 12 men enlested in my Company under this order, with the destenct under Standing they Should be mustered out the 28th of July 1865 Sum of
them would have gon in to New Regmtes wore it not for this promise & the advantage growing out of this office. Now gudge a coppeny of that news paper he asks for it is Sure whan letter May & aught will you gratey me with the Such an order if Ever I should by you. & Send to me at Your mast Erley convenience I gretly oblig, I love all our Boyes in Blew I have two Sons & one Senlaw helping to put down this unlalful Rebellion. I am deletud that you have dun all in your power to aid us in puting down the unlalful Rebellion
I am 64 years old & I would prefur deth rather than Suffer the whole Geff Davis (tut??) of Vipers to Rool over us I Love all men now but these Copperheds & of the North I cannot Select any name that would place them as low as thay Should go I hate them So bad I am Sorry thay have the form of a man.

Referrs to a letter which he recieved from a friend in the army in which he said that he enlisted in an old Regt. with the understanding that he would be discharged when the Regt was _ as directed in an order issued by Govr Yates -
Wants to Know if he issued such an order & if so to send him a copy of it.
