Hon. Richard Yates, Governor of the State of Illinois:

        Dear Sir;
                      There is a young man, a private in Co M. of the 12th Illinois Cavalry, unfit for field service, recommended by his physician, Dr Stahl, U. S. Surgeon at Memphis, Tenn., for the Invalid Corps _  His Sister Mrs Council Greeley, of this City, is very desirous he sh'd be transferred to this Post, on that duty_  Is it in your power to accomplish it?   It would be doing a great favor to a most Estimable lady, if you could recommend, or secure the change_ His Name is Frank Herman Sellers_  If you can do any thing in the case, I shall regard it as a great personal Kindness_
