               Mr. E. Eno,
                              Agt. (Uj.?) Lan. Com
                                                     Sir.
I have the honor to ask you, as a citizen of Illinois; and one who has had an oppertunity of seeing the deficiency in the means of conveyance of the Sick and wounded of our Army; from Louisville Jeffersonville, Serv. Albany, and other points on the Ohio River, to their homes in the northern and western states; and the untold sufferings, as well as the many noble lives sacrificed on account of that deficiency: To call the attention of his Excellency Gov. Yates of Illinois to the importance of immediate action on that subject, by our State in behalf of her noble suffering sons I would recommend the establishing of a Hospital Train, similar to those now running on Military Roads, to be placed on some of our main tracks in Illinois and Indiana. I hope you will also press the matter of a Clame Agency for Illinois.
                          Yours for the suffering
                                              J. N. Nazer

Resp'ly referred to Hon R. Yates with the hope that his honor will unite with Gov Morton and succeed in Establishing Hospital Trains North of the Ohio.__ Dr (Hasen?) is from Peoria & would be an Excellent man to put them in operation._

The cost of fitting passenger cars with beds for wounded is a mere trifle_ _

          Very Resp'ly
