My good friend May I ask a favor from you. / I think you will bear me witness that I have not been against intrusion in this respect/ Judge R.S. Millson has a son (George G. Millson) who is quite anxious to serve his county. The Judge would like to get him a possition in the Navy as "acting Masters Mate" will you please do me the favor to write a letter to the Secretary of War as strong as you can recomending him for that appointment. this will not only be a very deserving compliment to Judge Millson but will be deeply appreciated by me
