To the honourable Gov Yates. Dear Sir. I hereby would inform you that we have 6 miles North of Perry in Elkhorn Township Brown Co. Ill. formed a company of home guards The company is full 45 men. I wish you to give us arms for a horse company Please send us a blank to draw the arms on give us any information by which we may get them I expected to have been in Springfield and seen you on the 7th of Sept. at the meeting of the U.L but was detained by the cars, not leaving Versailles in season our Capt. will be a non commissioned officer of the 10 Cavalry who has been discharged
