Auburn Ill Sept 10th 1864 To his Excellency Governor Yates Sir, by directions of the officers of the Soldiers Aid Society I appeal to you for information concerning how to direct a box of goods intended for wounded soldiers. we have been informed that it must go to a certain agent in Springfield and not knowing his name, we have to direct the bag in his care, I trust you will be so kind as to inform us, and oblige yours respectfully [miss] Salome Hamm secty of Soldiers Society Auburn Ill
