Dear Sir

I have a son, who represents me in the Army, and whose time expired on the 2d of this month but is staying by request until the 15th of next month. I want him to fight the thing out and have written to him to that effect. He will call at your office on his way from New Orleans if he gets my letter in time and if you can place him in some situation mutually satisfactory you will oblige as loyal a man as ever left England for this country
