Your Excellency I have the honour to reply to the request you made respecting the release of a man confined here named James Ball

Said Ball was sent to this post by Order of Capt Fithian (Provost Marshal 7th Dist.of this State) with descriptive papers &c to be forwarded to His Regt as a Deserter

He was sent from this camp yesterday (12th Inst) to Schofield Barracks if you desire His release you will have to communicate with that Post
