Your Excellency I have the honour to reply to the request you made respecting the release of a man confined here named James Ball
Said Ball was sent to this post by Order of Capt Fithian (Provost Marshal 7th Dist.of this State) with descriptive papers &c to be forwarded to His Regt as a Deserter
He was sent from this camp yesterday (12th Inst) to Schofield Barracks if you desire His release you will have to communicate with that Post

Has received Govr's request for release of John Ball Says he was sent there by Pro. Mar. Fithian, of 7th Dist, to be forwarded to his regiment as a deserter & was sent yesterday to Schofield Barracks.
