Having been unfortunate in buisiness matters it is my desire to obtain a position either under our state govt. or the general govt. and without doubt your letter will at least be of great service to me, Then will soon be plenty of openings for new like myself and the truly loyal should have the preferance,
Enclosed I forward you letters from two parties, whom you will remember as old and tried friends.
I have the honor. to remain Yours [illegible]
