Sir:

I have the honor to recommend capt Wm Beezley Co. "F" 106 Ills. Vols. to be appointed and commissioned as major of this Reg't in obedience to the wish of the Commissioned officers of this Reg't now present. Expressed by ballot this evening.

I would further recommend that 1st Lt James J. Ewing Co. "F" 106 Ills. Vols. be appointed and commissioned Capt of Co. "F" vice Beezley promoted: and that 2nd Lt John R. Ash Col. "F" be appointed and commissioned 1st Lt. vice Ewing promoted. The wish

of the commissioned officers was expressed by an impartial ballot and resulted in the choice of Capt William Beezley for the vacant majorship.
