To his Excellency Gov Yates,
Dr Sir,
I had a conversation with Secy Stanton last week, he told me that all the Ills Soldiers who were in Hospital or unfit for active service should be furloughd until after the Election. That lists should be furnished to him from this State. In Indiana measures are being taken to make out such lists. In order to do so I suppose the Hospitals should be visited by a good man. It would require several men probably. I could furnish one to look after the Soldiers of this Dist

He had a conversation with Secty. Stanton who told him that all soldiers in hospitals who were not fit for the field should be furloughed until after Election, and that lists of these soldiers should be furnished to him.
He says he can furnish a man to look after soldiers from that Dist.
