I have the honor to apprise you that I have issued orders to Capt. Amos B. Coon. Provost Marshal. second (2nd) District, Marengo. Ills: Captain John V. Eustace, Provost Marshal. Third (3rd) District. Dixon Ills; Captain Benj'a F Westlake, Provost Marshal Ninth (9th) District, Mt. Sterling. Ills; Captain Edwin S. Condit. Provost Marshal Eleventh (11th) District, Olney, Ills; and Captain Isaac N. Phillips. Provost Marshal, thirteenth (13th) District, Alton, Ills. to commence drafting in their respective Districts on Thursday the

twentyninth (29th) inst.

Orders to draft have now been issued to the Pro. Marshals of every Dist. in the state.

The draft has thus far proceeded quietly & rapidly, and will so continue, it is hoped, till it is finished. The drawing is nearly completed in the 4th, 10th, 8th, & 12th, districts, and drafted men or substitutes are beginning to arrive at the Rendezvous.
